The Making of 2 Butterfly Paintings
February 20, 2018
San Juan Mountains Painting Commission
April 15, 2018This week I drove to Telluride, Colorado with a car full of colorful art, to hang a new show of eight months worth of work. Here are a few photos.
This exhibition is a collection of my latest works created over the last eight months. The center of this show is a pair of “Winter Trees”, with thick texture and Pearl Iridescent paint combined with spray paint.
You’ll find a series of butterflies that started at a Colorado ski area. (Watch a video of how I created them here). And “Eternal Tulips“, a large canvas full of painting, cut paper textures, gold details, and large shouldery brush strokes.
If you are in the area during the month of March, stop by La Cocina de Luz on the main street of Telluride, to see this show.
The walls are filled with big, bold mixed media paintings, and I’d like to think it’s a pretty happy place to be. Not to mention all of the yummy, organic mexican soups and sauces and salads!
You can read more detail about the pieces in the show here. Or find prices and sizes here.
